Bio
Jeremy is a highly experienced programmer, architect, and engineering manager, specializing in building robust, large-scale distributed systems. He has also done seminal research in the development of search, markup languages & protocols, and information extraction. Jeremy is presently serving as a founder of a venture-backed stealth-mode startup. Prior to his current position, Jeremy served as Vice President, Engineering and Chief Technology Officer for Atom Entertainment (f/k/a AtomShockwave), where he was responsible for the architecture behind the company's highly successful distributed multiplayer game platform. Prior to Atom, he was Chief Platform Architect at Perpetual, Inc., where he designed and built server-side systems for massively multiplayer online games. Jeremy was also a founder of Xigo, Inc., a provider of systems and services for real-time analysis of massive quantities of streaming unstructured data. At Xigo he served as Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for the company's technical direction, development and management of its engineering, QA, and operations staff (45 people), and for recruiting other senior engineering management. Jeremy's work at Xigo resulted in 13 patent applications. Prior to Xigo, Jeremy held senior positions at Certicom and in Apple Computer's Advanced Technology Group. Jeremy holds nine patents. He graduated from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in cognitive science.
